Does my business need a website?
There are many reasons why your business could benefit from a website. Firstly, it generates awareness of your business - anyone around the world could find your business if they are searching for a product or service specific to you. Secondly, your website holds all of the necessary contact information so people can actually contact you, either via the phone or using your online contact methods.
Return to topHow big does my website need to be?
Your website can be as big as you want it to be or as big as it needs to be. Our basic package offers 5 static pages, with all the important details of your business readily accessible. The medium package can include an online news section so you can give your customers or visitors the most up to date news from your business. The full package can be an online shop, a forum, a news site or anything you like.

Return to topWill it cost me more if my website takes longer than agreed?
No, you pay the price on the agreed quote.
Return to topWhy do I have to pay money up front before you start work?
In order for us to work efficiently, a 50% payment up front is required so we can plan our time to complete your website on time. This also gives us the opportunity to produce a couple of draft layouts for you to choose from.
Return to topHow do I get a website name (domain)?
Your website address, or domain (http://www.example.com) is chosen and purchased by you. We offer to help suggest a domain name and support you during the purchasing process. If you already have a domain, you can use this for your new site.

I don't understand URLs, hosting, ISPs etc - what do I do?
There's no need to worry, we will guide through every step of the way in order for you to purchase your web hosting and answer any questions you have on ISPs, URLs, URIs and anything else you're not sure of.
Return to topDo I have to supply graphics, photographs and logos?
The website will be based on a colour scheme set by you, or even a simple description or illustration on what you would like it to look like. Any artwork, photographs, images and logos can be emailed to us in any format you like, but it is important that we have all images, content and information before we commence work on the website, or this will delay us in creating your website. We can also design a logo for you if you don't already have one.
Return to topDo I have to use a local company to make my website?
No, there may not be a need for us and our customers to meet. All necessary discussions, quotations and work can be carried out over the telephone, by email and by post. We will send a quote and an agreement for you to read and agree to. Once we have received a valid Purchase Order, signed agreement and 50% deposit, work will commence.
Return to topCan I see my website on a pc before it's finished?
Yes, all of our work in progress can be viewed in a secure area on our website, with a suggestion box so you can send us details on what you like and dislike about your website so far. This means less time on the phone and you get to see changes as and when they happen.
Return to topDo I need to put any software on my pc to make my website work?
No, your website will viewable on the majority of PCs and Macs connected to the internet, providing they have Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Netscape Navigator, Opera or any other popular web browser.
Return to topI've heard that 'not all browsers are compatible' - what does this mean?
No 2 web browsers are the same. They interpret the website code differently, so your website on Microsoft Internet Explorer for example may look a little different on Apple Macintosh Safari. We write the code for our websites to work on the most popular browsers around, so that the vast majority of visitors can see and use the website the way it was intended to be.
Return to topWhich web browsers will your code work correctly on?
We test our code on the most popular web browsers. These are Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator 6, Netscape Navigator 8, Opera 9 and Apple Safari 3.
Return to topI've heard that websites have to be 'accessible by all' - what does this mean?
The Disability Discrimination Act requires that all business websites that show information and services must be accessible by all. This means that a visitor that is partially sighted can increase the size of the text on the screen and even change the colour of the text. A visitor that is blind can still use the internet. They use what is called a screen reader, to read the website to them. Our websites are written to comply with this act.
Return to topHow do I know my website is finished?
When your site is finished, we will contact you and ask you to try it out in the secure area on our website. When you are happy that it is complete, we will send you a completion form to sign and return.
Return to topWhen does the website become live?
When the completion form has been signed and returned, we will send you a final invoice, which you will need to pay the balance of within 30 days. When we receive the balance on the invoice, your website will be uploaded to your web host, tested in full and you will receive a phonecall or email asking you to try your new website.
Return to topYou can pay for your website by cash, cheque, postal order, bank transfer, debit card or credit card. When payment is due, we will send you an invoice by email or post and an email link to pay the invoice value if using a card payment. If you do not have an email address, then cash or cheque / postal order is all we can accept.
Return to topWhat happens to the website code when it's finished - do you keep it?
We keep a copy of the code and send you a cd with the code and all images and files to keep. You will own the copyright to the code.
Return to topWhat if I want to change the design of my website in the future?
You are free to do what you like with your website once it is live. Any changes you make will be at your own risk. We can offer an extended maintenance agreement, where we perform changes and updates. Small changes will normally be performed free of charge. This will be detailed in your quote.
Return to topWhat happens if my website breaks?
Websites do not normally 'break', unless the code has been incorrectly amended by someone. With dynamic websites that use databases, it is advisable to do a periodic backup of your database, in case it needs to be restored. This is extremely rare, but can happen. The majority of the time, any website errors are down to the pc viewing the website. It is rarely the website code itself but can be a problem with your web hosting company.
Return to topHow do I get my site to appear on Google, Yahoo! or MSN?
We can offer to submit your website to the major search engines. This will be detailed on your quote. Your website can take up to 6 months to appear in any of the major search engine results.
Return to topHow can I tell how many visitors have been to my site?
Generally, your web hosting company keeps logs of all activity on your website. This can show you the number of visitors, where the visitors are located and when they visited. This information can be difficult to get and make sense of. We can offer a 'hit-counter' as part of the website. This can be seen by all, or only in an administration area, depending on the package you choose.
